Quit Ye Like Men

£15.50
By John W Perry
Very definitely a book that once picked up will be read cover to cover in one sitting. It is a nostalgic book spelling out clearly what life was like at sea in the 1950s for young cadets who in their thousands trained at the pre-sea schools and colleges which were dotted about Britain in those days. The author joined HMS Conway in the Autumn of 1953, passing out some two years later, trained and ready to face up to a further three years of intensive work as a cadet with the famous P&O company. It is a well crafted book and the reader is brought alongside the young man and his shipmates in the many adventures they experienced. A book full of laughter, it also tells of the growing into manhood and reaching the final goal of a brand new Second Master ticket. 175 pages of pleasure. Illustrated in B&W. One of the best books on the subject you will ever find. Quit Ye Like Men – John Perry did.
