Help Wanted

Help WantedLetters from persons seeking information are published on the understanding that the writer will take good care of any photographs or other material received in response to their request and will bear all reasonable costs incurred by the sender. Answers to inquiries should be sent directly to the person concerned and NOT to the magazine. However, the magazine would be pleased to receive copies of those replies which may be considered to be of general interest.

CertamenIN THE MARCH 2010 ISSUE of Sea Breezes, Mike Ball suggests that the photo of a ship in the North African Ports article in the November 2009 edition was in fact a cable ship, not a hydrographic research ship.

I HAVE ASKED a number of my e-mail contacts whether they can cast any light on the purpose of the vessel in the attached photograph, and who owns or owned it, but so far a complete blank.

Unidentified Dreadnaught

I HAVE NOW BEEN KEEPING Sea Breezes for 27 years and enjoy every copy. Since 2001 I have been trying to identify a vessel in the November issue on page 419 and hope someone might be able to help me.

How do they do it?

I ENCLOSE A PHOTO OF A SHIPS STOCKLESS ANCHOR, which I think is also known as an ‘Admiralty stockless anchor’.
