In early 2012, as part of her World Voyage, the Queen Mary 2 will for the first time be undertaking a 22-night circumnavigation of Australia.
Cunard are offering the opportunity to sail out to Sydney from Southampton on 10 January, spend 22 nights doing their own thing in Australia from 14 February to 7 March and then rejoin the ship for the voyage back to Southampton arriving on 27 April.
This is a unique opportunity for those who have always wanted to spend time in Australia – especially visiting friends and relatives – but to do so without setting foot through an airport or on to a plane.
Prices for the outward journey start at £3,499 for 35-nights on the Queen Mary 2 from Southampton to Sydney. The homeward leg starts at £5,099 for 51 nights. For the journey there and back, prices start at £8,598. Including the 22 nights in Australia the whole trip would be for 109 nights.
Peter Shanks, Cunard President and Managing Director, says; “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the many people who would like to spend quality time in Australia but without setting foot in an airport or on a plane.
“As well as spending 22-nights with friends and family or just exploring Australia, people would enjoy 86-nights of luxury and visit many famous ports onboard the Queen Mary 2. With prices from just £8,598 – which is not much more than a return Business Class flight to Sydney – this really is a once in a lifetime experience”.
The programme goes on sale on 15 July 2010 and demand is expected to be very high.
