Svitzer Monarch and Svitzer Ganges

Svitzer Monarch and Svitzer Ganges have commenced work with the company’s Sheerness based fleet, the latter’s name implying she may be regularly called on for ship-handling on the Orwell at Felixstowe and Harwich.

The two new tugs arrived at Sheerness from Panama and had been Hong Kong built as Svitzer Helena and Svitzer Celia for a project in South America but when it was delayed they were diverted to the UK and renamed as part of the Medway fleet. (both 492,’16 Hin Lee - Zhuhai/ Cheoy Lee - Hong Kong 5220bhp Cats).

Svitzer Avon has also begun work at the Port of Bristol. Last of a class of six for Svitzer designed by Robert Allan of Vancouver delivered by the prolific Turkish builders Sanmar. (Sanmar- Turkey 461,’17 MTU 5364bhp)
