The season begins with Southampton, now celebrating its 50th year which, following the demise of the London Boat Show becomes Britain’s most important superyacht showcase.
This year, the show runs from 14th to 23rd September and is a vital showpiece for the large British boat builders, the likes of Sunseeker, Princess Yachts and Fairline, each of which will introduce new large yachts to the market.
The British boat builder, Fairline Yachts will showcase their all-new Targa 43 OPEN. The boat will have made her worldwide debut at Cannes Yachting Festival just days before the start of the UK’s largest on-water boat show. This innovative addition to the Targa range is the latest boat designed for Fairline Yachts by celebrated superyacht designer, Alberto Mancini. This successful partnership between the Italian designer and British boatyard, which began with the Targa 63 GTO in 2016, has created an instantly recognisable profile with effortless styling and classic ‘made in Great Britain’ quality.
The anticipation for the launch of the new model began much before the first model was even constructed, with ten orders being placed on the first day of The London Boat Show 2017 – 18 months before the first boat would take to the water. With a starting price of £482,700 (excluding taxes), and powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS600 engines that offer speeds of up to 34 knots, it is perhaps easy to see why.
Princess Yachts will have large yachts on display, as will Sunseeker who are again, this year, promising a star studded opening featuring well known personalities from stage and screen.
