Helsinki Bridge

Port tugs and members of the US Coast Guard, the Massport Fire Department, Boston Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police went to the aid of the container ship Helsinki Bridge, 96,801gt, of the K Line, of Japan, after she broke free from her mooring at Boston at around 0045 on Dec 6.

The 1,065ft long ship had been berthed at the Paul W Conley container terminal, All on board were able to safely disembark and no injuries or pollution were reported.

A docking pilot boarded the ship and, along with her crew, they took the ship into Broad Sound where she anchored.
