USS Constitution

The historic US frigate Constitution made a special trip to Charlestown, Massachusetts, on Oct 20 last to mark the ship’s launching 220 years ago, and the US Navy’s 242nd birthday.

The Constitution’s 21-gun salute was returned by the Concord Battery and 101st Field Artillery near Fort Independence on Castle Island.

She also fired 17 rounds when passing the US Coast Guard Station, the site of the Edmund Hartt shipyard where she was built.
