At a ceremony in Boston, the Coast Guard commissioned its newest Legend-class national security cutter, USCGC James (WMSL 754) under the command of Captain Andrew J Tiongson of Somerville, Massachusetts.

James was commissioned in Boston to honour Captain Joshua James of Hull, Massachusetts, who is credited with saving more than 600 lives while serving with the US Life Saving Service.

Built at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi, the 418-foot cutter with her crew of 119 will be home-ported in Charleston, South Carolina.
