The container group CMA CGM, of Marseilles, is testing a new container on the Europe-Asia services that has a new form of flooring, known as the Eko-Flor.
This is part of the group’s programme to avoid the impact of container floorings production on rainforest deforestation.
Developed by the Canadian company Conforce International, in partnership with Bayer, the new Eko-Flor container flooring is made of a reinforced compound material which offers a low weight floor, a complete resistance to all type of products, an increased container service life, and a reusable and recyclable floor. The floorings offer a saving of 550kg per 40ft container.
