Sider VivaraNova Marine, of Luxembourg, and the Canada-based Algoma Central Corporation have signed a joint venture agreement to establish a fleet of cement carriers to supply infrastructure projects across the world.

It will be named NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers or NACC. Under the agreement, Algoma will acquire a 50 per cent interest in the existing cement carrier fleet owned by Nova, which comprises three pneumatic cement carriers in operation and two under construction. These five vessels are and will be deployed in various markets in Europe and Asia.
