Caledonian Isles

To Scotland now, and Calmac continue their shuffling of ships between routes, this time Arran’s mainstay Caledonian Iles having rudder issues with Hebridean Isles taking over, hopefully, briefly.

Nearby, in James Watt dock, Greenock, is Hebridean Princess looking as regal as ever, belying her age, delivered by the sainted Hall Russell yard, Aberdeen, as the Columba.

A worrying time for supporters of the Maid of the Loch on Lomond which has had a major lottery bid refused, though I am sure that will not be the end of the story.

She also had a mishap, though without damage or injuries, when she slipped back into the water when being drawn ashore onto her slipway which will be the subject of a safety inquiry.
