THE Japanese shipping line, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line), have taken delivery of the coal carrier Corona Citrus, 88,000dwt, built by the associated Imabari Shipbuilding in Marugame, Japan.
The ship has been chartered to carry thermal coal to power stations for the Electric Power Development Co, of Japan.
She is the latest of the line’s Corona class coal carriers and features a wide beam and shallow draft enabling her to enter ports to discharge her cargo at thermal power stations. The ship is equipped with a weather adapted duct in front of the propeller and a hybrid fin behind it to improve propeller efficiency and energy savings. (K Line)
