Pacific Vision

What is claimed to be the world’s first ‘intelligent very large ore carrier’ has been delivered to the China Merchants Energy Shipping Co. by the Chinese shipbuilders Shanghai Waigaoqiao shipyard.

The Pacific Vision, 399,999dwt, is classed with DNV GL, and has an overall length of 352m, a breadth of 65m, a depth of 32.4m, and a draft of 23m.

To obtain the DNV GL SmartShip notation, the Pacific Vision has been fitted with an integration platform, a smart navigation decision support system, an energy and optimisation system, and smart vessel-operation and maintenance system.

The Pacific Vision sails between Brazil and China, Japan, Malaysia and Oman, and is also likely to be deployed between Brazil and Rotterdam and Italy.
