The wreck of the container ship TS Taipei has been removed after five months on the reef off Shimen, Taiwan, where she grounded last March and broke in two.
The Taiwanese Maritime and Port Bureau said the wreck was removed in two sections. The rear section was removed and transported to Keelung at the end of July.
The authorities planned to remove the front section in mid-August, however, due to favourable weather conditions, the section was removed in early August and taken to Keelung.
On Mar 10, the TS Taipei, 20,615dwt, of TS Lines, was on her way from Keelung to Taichung when she lost propulsion in bad weather and grounded on the rocks.
