P&O CRUISES made a little bit of Australian history during the last week of April with a record four calls to ports in the state of South Australia.
The 64,500-tonne Pacific Pearl made P&O Cruises’ first ever call to Port Lincoln, berthed at Kangaroo Island and also completed the cruise line’s maiden visit to Robe. Additionally, the 1800-passenger ship made her maiden call to Adelaide with passengers enjoying a full day in the city.
The cruise line last visited the South Australian capital in 2011. P&O Cruises Senior Vice President Tammy Marshall said the visits, which were part of a six-night roundtrip cruise from Melbourne, marked the start of a closer relationship with South Australia.
The cruise line will offer its first ever roundtrip cruises from Adelaide in 2015, with the Pacific Jewel sailing on two cruises from the city in February and March.
