I recently found the enclosed enlarged copy of a postcard among my late wife’s possessions and would like to get more information on the RMSP Meteor.
I have no information about the sender or addressee but it is possible the vessel was going to India as my wife’s father served in the army there.
The text on the back of the postcard reads; Dear Nan & E, We are having a splendid voyage. Are now nearing Aden, land in sight this morning. This ship was the Kaiser yacht splendidly fitted out. Only officers & officer’s families on board. Could not imagine a more pleasant trip. Weather and food “top hole”. Will probably land about 23 or 24 inst. Best wishes, Will.
Will was not my wife’s father and I have no idea who he was. Any information readers can give me would be most appreciated.
