I have read , with interest, recently in Sea Breezes various articles on the South American Saint Line.
Although the Saint Line offices at Cardiff and London were closed in 1961 and the company and its ships sold; on a recent visit to Cardiff I was amazed to see that Saint Line House still exists. Although bearing the name, it is used for other purposes. Well how about that.
I am aware that the first cheque for £1 million pounds in history was signed at the Cardiff Coal Exchange, but would appreciate if any reader could give details and the date.
