AFTER READING THE INTERESTING ARTICLE by Bill Fairbrother, ‘A Deep Sea Engineer on the Coast’ in the February 2011 edition of Sea Breezes, I remember seeing the Marchon Enterprise on which he sailed being broken up at the Manchester Dry Docks in July and August 1984.

Marchon Enterprise On looking through my collection of photographs, I came across some that I had taken of this vessel, dated 14 August 1984.

I hope that these copies are of interest to both Mr Fairbrother and readers. I took them when I worked on the tug fleet of the Manchester Ship Canal Company.
