In the My First Voyage: Chapter 2 article by John Rogers in the August 2017 issue of Sea Breezes, there is a photograph of the SS Dunera in 1937.
She was actually the MS Dunera (not SS as the caption says). BI did not use the abbreviation MV (motor vessel), instead they used MS (motor ship).
She was a troop ship for most of the time and may have also been a passenger liner for a period. Latterly, from 1960 onwards, she was an educational cruise ship. I was a student on board and still have the ship’s badge they gave me and the other students with the BI house flag and MS Dunera.
