During June 2016, a recent visitor to Oban, Argyll was the Silver Explorer.
In the photo she is obscured by the smoke coming from the two very small cruise vessels of the Majestic Line; the Glen Masson and the Glen Tarsan (converted fishing vessels). Are their engines warming up? This very small company is popular here, running four to twelve day cruises round the Western Islands of Scotland and as far west as St Kilda. They carry up to twelve passengers, being fed the best of local produce.
I don’t think the Silver Explorer will have to worry much about the competition, as popular (locally) as the small vessels are.
