I first became a reader of Sea Breezes magazine in September 1961 on joining The Thames & Mersey Marine Insurance Company Ltd, at their offices No 1 Dale Street Liverpool - salary £290 per annum.
I am sure there are those who became readers before myself and it is perhaps those who might be able to help me. I am looking for information on two other maritime-related magazines.
The first is Salt Spray for which the front cover of the January 1937 edition is shown. I know from enquiries of the Research Administrator, Nautilus International that bound copies are available to view at Nautilus House, Wallasey, but unfortunately without the front cover designs.
The second is New Entry Magazine RN Barracks Chatham - the front cover of the October 1936 edition is shown. I am informed by the Collections Assistant, Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust that they have no examples of the magazine or its cover designs. I will be pleased to hear from anyone who has other examples of either magazine, my particular interest being in the artwork for the covers, both examples being by the maritime artist, Kenneth D Shoesmith RI.
