I am trying to locate a photograph of the iron steam trawler, St Clement (also spelt St Clements).
She was built at Aberdeen by Hall, Russell and Co and was launched on 17 January 1885 and locally owned. Her fishing number was A 70. By 1901, she was withdrawn from fishing and owned by the patentees of a special boiler, being used as a demonstration vessel. By 1905 her owners were shipbuilders, Vickers & Co of Barrow-in- Furness. By 1912 she passed to French owners and became a pilot cutter, cruising off Dunkirk and renamed Pilote V or Pilote 5. By October 1922 she is reported to have been at Grimsby, sold to cover unpaid dock dues. Her new owner was G W Pogson who operated her as a trawler based on Grimsby and with the fishing number of GY 104, still called Pilote 5. Owners given as Pogson and Symonds. Her Grimsby register closed on 29 April 1925 when her mortgagees, a bank, sold her to Spanish owners.
If anybody can help with a photograph of her at any stage of her career, I would be grateful.
